He along with debutante Pooja Hegde dominate the film with their superb performances. With this film, it is once again proved that Naga Chaitanya is at ease with romantic entertainers. Editing is quite neat and so is the art direction. His screenplay is weak in the second half as he fails to sustain the positive buzz that he creates during the first.
Production values are good and present the film in a rich light.Ĭoming to the director Vijay Konda, one can say that he has not managed to evoke the entertainment when compared to his debut film Gunde Jari Gallatayyinde. Dialogues written are simple and yet meaningful. Cinematography is top notch, and the way songs have been shot and choreographed needs a special mention. As said earlier, stories like these have come in quite a lot and has nothing much new to offer.Īs said earlier, music of the film is decent, and all the songs go with the flow of the film. The so called emotions are not properly elevated in necessary areas, leaving the screenplay below par. Heroine’s character lacks clarity in certain places, and could have been justified more. The writing here suffers as the director fails to bring in the necessary entertainment or the needed emotions. After a racy first half, the pace in the second drags a bit. Fifteen minutes of the first half is below par as the story never kick starts here. Once the twist is revealed, the film gets highly predictable. Major drawback of the film is its predictability. The way the twist in the second half is revealed is pretty good. First half of the film is racy and the interval bang is nicely executed. The way his track has been weaved into the story line is quite entertaining.
Ali’s comedy is yet another major plus for this film. She has handled a complex role well and is definitely a star in the making. Pooja Hegde is definitely the find of the year, and has an amazing screen presence. Anup Ruben’s music is peppy and will be a added bonus. Roles like these are a cake walk for him, and has performed his character with a lot of ease. Naga Chaitanya looks super handsome, and has matured tremendously with his acting. Vijay Kumar Konda needs to be credited for showcasing a routine story in quite an entertaining way. Major plus point of the film is the simple yet beautiful romance. What will Nandu do now ? Will she reveal her hatred towards Karthik to her parents ? and how does Karthik change Nandu’s mind and win his love ? That forms the rest of the story. Twist in the tale arises when Karthik’s parents get him engaged to Nandu. One fine day, Karthik proposes to Nandu but she rejects him point blank. Sadly, it is the other way round for Nandu, who has bitter experiences every time she meets him.
One fine day, he spots Nandu(Pooja Hegde) and falls head over heels for her. Karthik(Naga Chaitanya) is a rich handsome guy who completes his studies and comes back to India.
Let’s now see how the Naga Chaitanya and Pooja Hegde starrer is. Vijay Kumar Konda’s Oka Laila Kosam is their 25th film, and has hit the screens today. Annapurna Studios have been churning out some meaningful films from quite some time now.
